My grandmother lives in Crete, and whenever we go on vacation, she get a car rental Crete has around and drives us everywhere. That woman is on her 60′s and she is still going. I find it to be quite amazing for me to pursue something like this, and I think that it is quite something that I can be proud of! I know that some people just don’t like to drive themselves around, so we have to consider ourselves to be quite lucky to be able to put grandma to good use! I just want to make sure that I am going to enjoy myself, but my grandmother knows too many places for anything to go wrong. I trust her fully to take us around Crete and back to the airport when we need to leave! It just makes me want to keep on coming back to visit her.

I am so excited! My husband and I are finally going to New Zealand. We’ve wanted to go for years, so this is a real dream come true for us. Our trip is next year, so we have plenty of time to loosely plan out our route. We can chose which sites we want to see and how long we want to stay at each stop. We considered tours, but really feel like we want the flexibility of renting a car and being on our own. Sean was really excited to hear that their family will be going to Iceland for the holidays. He had always imagined it to be covered with big blocks of ice and glaciers as suggested by the name. He couldn’t wait for the Iceland holidays and kept counting the days when they would finally reach there.

When they finally reached over there, he realised that it was not all ice around, but since it was summers, greenery and waterfalls covered the region. The landscape was truly picturesque. His family knew that it would be a perfect spot, not only for vacations, but for many recreational activities and picnics. Although, the place was not very populated, but it offered a very serene and a peaceful atmosphere with no pollution at all, unlike the city they lived in. The people over there were very kind and were always willing to help the tourists to guide them to the best visiting spots. Also, the food over there turned out to be really delicious and tasty although it was unexpected. The culture was very different and of a sort that inspired and got the outsiders interested.

After having a great time Sean couldn’t wait to get back home and tell his friends about the great vacations.

Of all the countries I have visited, Morocco is unfortunately not on my list of favourites. The hot, dry, dusty cities and confined markets are not really my thing. What is my thing though is the food. I much prefer Moroccan cuisine over Lebanese and Turkish as well as many European cuisines like French and German. It will never be better than Italian or Spanish cuisine in my opinion but it comes a close third.

What I didn’t expect to be quite so good was the Moroccan breakfast I ate each day. It was a mixture of French and Moroccan food and I loved it. It was the highlight of each day on my trip. Most mornings I took breakfast on the roof terrace at the riad where I stayed and it was such a delightful way to spend the morning. I would almost go back to Morocco just for this experience but first I would like to visit Tunisia and Algeria to compare the food and lifestyle in those countries.
