Specialized Social Networks

I am a big fan of social networks. They are a perfect way of building contacts and your own personal and business networks. But it must be remembered that not all social networks will serve your needs. The major social networks are really only good for keeping in touch with friends and family. If you want to build contacts and network in a particular profession, you will have to join a specialized social network. For instance, if you are into acting and modeling the network you would want to join is One Source Talent. This is a community of actors and models who can share information and help with new techniques as well as with new job opportunities. Everyone you meet will have similar interests as yourself, and you will not have to waste time creating clubs or finding other people who are into modeling and acting like you would if you tried to do these things at a major social network.
